UK SPINE 2019 Annual conference
The first annual UK Spine KE conference was a tremendous success. It brought together key players from Academia, Government, Industry, Charities and Venture Capital from across the UK. Important discussed topics include:
- How is open science incentivised, and what are its key challenges?
- Should open Science equal free science?
- What is the importance of frictionless knowledge exchange for innovative public-private partnerships?
- What is the role of IP protection in large consortia such as the UK Spine and how can this be applied in a more fluid manner to stimulate innovation?
We are were proud to have had Jeremy Farrar speak at our conference who nailed the hammer on the head when he said: ‘It is not about cheap medicines rather how to make them affordable’.
With newly acquired insights from all these important thought-leaders we are aiming to shape our world-leading strategy even further and accelerate drug discovery for affordable and accessible medicine to counteract multi-morbidities in ageing.
